Skiing or Snowboarding in Wisconsin

If you’ve been following the Wisconsin weather this winter you’d know that we’ve been getting our fair share of snow.  The average annual snowfall statewide is 46.3 inches.  Snowfall is heaviest in January, averaging 10.6 inches, while December, February and March each average about 9 inches.

Snow means winter fun and there’s no better place to ski or snowboard than in Wisconsin.  Wisconsin is ranked number 3 in the nation for places to downhill ski.  With our lower priced resorts and shorter lift lines, in Wisconsin you’re never more than an hour’s drive from a great place to enjoy the winter season.

If you’re planning on being anywhere near Merrimac, WI  Jan 3rd – 9th you’ll want to visit Devil’s Head Ski Resort because they are hosting the College Olympics.  College students just have to show a current college ID to receive $10 off daily lift tickets.  Olympic events on the weekend include a giant slalom, waterbed bladder race, cardboard boxcar race, halfpipe contest, and the snow volleyball championship. Students can register and compete for their college with a grand prize going to the winning school.

Below are some of the top 22 snow hills to visit in (or around) Wisconsin listed in alphabetical order.   Check out their individual pages (click on their web address to visit their site) and see what upcoming events you might attend or hot season deals you can take advantage of.
