With over 300,000 lights burning every night, the illuminated garden pathways guide visitors on an evening stroll through the various themed light displays throughout the botanical gardens in Janesville, WI.
After viewing the display you can step inside to enjoy a warm beverage as you watch The Wisconsin Garden Railway Society’s model trains or surround yourself with quilted masterpieces from the Rock Valley Quilter’s Guild. RBG’s Holiday Light Show is not something you want to miss. There are nightly entertainment activities and refreshments available with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. For a complete night by night listing you can visit the Rotary Botanical Garden’s website.
Here’s a slide of last year’s (2010) event:
This year’s Holiday Light Show includes a few new features not offered last year. For example, the first 500 families to visit the display will receive a pair of “Holospex Glasses” that are intended to enhance the visual display during the show. Other new features for 2011 include a gingerbread house contest open to all ages, gingerbread house display, quilt raffle and other new raffles like one for a limited edition, G scale, model circus train set.
You may not be into quilts and winning train sets, but most people agree that the Rotary Botanical Garden’s effort is a “must see”. Bring your family and visit if you’re going to be in Janesville this coming December.
